Resources
Nursery Rooms
There are four nursery rooms. Nursery 1 admits children 3 months - 2 years and Nursery 2 admits children 2 - 3 years. Nurseries 3 and 4 admit children 3 - 5 years. All the nursery rooms are light and airy with an emphasis on the use of natural light and materials, which lead to a calm but stimulating environment. Each room has resources that are appropriate to the age group in that room. All rooms have resources to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
The Garden
All nursery rooms have access to a garden area. The garden has been carefully planned to provide a range of exciting sensory and interactive play opportunities to allow for children’s all round development.
Multi Sensory Rooms
We have two multi sensory rooms, which are a resource for all the children in the Centre. As the name suggests, the rooms help the children to use all their senses. The benefits will vary from child to child but all will gain from their experiences. Many will quieten on entry, others get excited. There are switches and pads that can be operated independently by children to change effects in the room. For some children these rooms can be the first stage in gaining some independence.
Studios
We have two studios available for group work. Studio one allows children to work with a range of art materials whilst studio two is for movement work. We are very privileged to have these spaces to work with children.
“Indoors children enjoy expressing themselves through their body in the music and movement room which encourages them to stay fit and healthy”. OFSTED Report 2007
Library
Children enjoy sharing books with their parents/carers. A children’s library is weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am - 9.30am and 12.30pm - 1.00pm. The cost of joining is £1 and your child will receive a book bag, book mark, library ticket and a card on which to collect stickers. For further information please ask nursery staff. Sharing books with your child is one of the best things you can do to develop their language skills.
